Key Fabric Programs
Wool
A large portion of our knitwear collection is knitted with natural wool. Where possible, we use merino wool – a natural fibre that is renewable and biodegradeable. Wool does not shed microplastics, so it is 100% biodegradable in both land and marine environments.
Linen
As a durable, long-lasting fibre, Willow uses some linen in our collections. It is biodegradable and a low impact fabric that is at the heart of laid back elegant dressing.
Light As Air
Arguably the softest yarn in our collection, Light As Air is a cashmere and silk blend. Biodegradable and with a low impact on the environment, by blending silk with cashmere (rather than polyester or nylon), the garment is lighter yet still lofty.
Recycled Polyester
Polyester does offer many benefits to the wearer that cannot be achieved using natural fibres. That being said, its negative impact on the environment is well documented. For this reason, Willow has prioritised using recycled polyester throughout our collection. Repurposed polyester fibres eliminate the need to product virgin polyester, and thus is supporting a circular system for the garment industry.
Tencel
Tencel is regarded as one of the most sustainable fabrics due to the techniques employed to make the material. Produced from wood pulp, Tencel requires far less energy and water than other fibres such as cotton.
